Where It All Began

For instance, the team requests a list of clients’ business locations and selects up to four delivery locations in each state, to better utilize the full potential of its fleet and significantly reduce transportation rates. It also considers lease turn-ins from clients and gives their employees the opportunity to drop off vehicles at the same delivery location they receive their vehicles, to further reduce the cost.

Against the Odds to Deliver the Best

Road Warriors’ commitment to providing premium auto transportation services was demonstrated when it rescued a prominent fleet customer by delivering over 600 pickup trucks to various locations on a tight timeline.

In July of 2016, McKeever was diagnosed with a very advanced stage of multiple myeloma and strongly considered closing Road Warriors’ doors. He was preparing for a stem cell transport in Hackensack, NJ when he was offered the opportunity to transport 600 plus vehicles for a long-time customer. Under the circumstances, McKeever turned down the opportunity, due to his severe health circumstances and informed his customer to find another company.

The client moved on to hiring another auto transportation company that walked away, after their first truck couldn’t load as many pickup trucks on their trailers as they had anticipated.

Since the transportation rates were locked in by contract, the client faced a major crisis with a tight deadline for delivery based on a new service contract they had signed. Seeing the critical nature of their requirement, McKeever personally lined up carriers and delivered 600 plus vehicles on-time, at the same rate promised by their previous transportation customer. This incidence not only helped the client, but inspired McKeever and his team to keep Road Warriors alive and continue serving their customers, like they had done since 2001. McKeever was out of the office for eighteen months fighting cancer and came back in January of 2018 to lead Road Warriors forward.

Imbibing a Culture of Giving Back

Road Warriors strongly believes in giving back to the community. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Terry Franz, also known as the Car Santa, approached Road Warriors to donate a 10-car hauler and driver to deliver vehicles to Houma, Louisiana, for a give-away to residents devastated by the natural disaster.

“My entire family went to Houma, Louisiana. We stayed for the vehicle give-away, and it was the most memorable Christmas my family ever experienced,” says McKeever.

After the vehicle give-away, Road Warriors continued to donate its equipment, storage facilities, and employees’ time to accept, retrieve and transport vehicles donated for “Cars 4 Christmas” and “Cars 4 Heroes.” These organizations provide free basic transportation to individuals, veterans, active-duty military, and first responders who are unable to obtain vehicles on their own. The reward of donating and sharing has a special meaning for Road Warriors and its crew.
